Department of Education

Welcome

The Skasimlaki Department of Education is about the future...educating our children is the single most important thing we, together as a government and a community, can do.

Purpose

Our mission is to provide leadership, guidance, and resources to help schools meet the educational needs of all Sim students to prepare them to perform their best in the workforce, the community, and the home.

Public Schools Branch

Public schooling - elementary through high school - is available to all Skasimlaki's children, free of charge. Every child should have the opportunity for education, and we are prepared to see that is always readily available.

School starts at 9am for all students, and ends at 1pm for high school students and 3pm for elementary students.

Uniforms are not required for public schooling, and transporation is provided for those that are unable to bring their children themselves. A school bus will pass and stop in front of each Sim family home that is occupied by children teen and under, at 8:00 am Monday-Friday. It is your responsibility, as a parent, to make sure your child gets on the bus.

Missing one day of school will cause your child to lose a complete letter grade, as will falling more than two days behind on any homework assigned.

Truancy is unacceptable in this state. Parents neglecting to get their children to school or to maintain an above F grade average will have their children removed from their home by state social workers.

Private Schools Branch

For those parents wanting to avoid the public schools, private schools are available in Skasimlaki. These, also, are free of charge assuming you can impress the local Headmaster enough to allow your children to attend his school.

Students wishing to attend private school must have a grade average of C or higher. As a hint to parents wishing their children to attend private school, the Headmaster likes superbly cooked meals (let the best chef in the house prepare his dinner) and he enjoys tours of nice homes, espcially those including an upstairs. Bonuses for any headmaster visit include sharing coffee, drinks from the bar, or enjoying some time in the hot tub.

Universities & Colleges Branch
