Kowling Update (As The Girls Grow)

August 01, 2011 By: Gov. Riley Category: Kowling Family, The Sims 3, Tunica Pines

Alina and Rainer Kowling believed their hands were full with a child, four toddlers, and an infant in their home.  They never imagined things would get even more wonderfully hectic as their children grew older.  Relishing the big family they both had always wanted, there are still some days that they feel a much-needed vacation might be in order as they struggle to keep up with a teenager, four children, and a toddler.  Despite the crazy odds, though, both still, from time to time, desire having another baby.  Thankfully for both of them, however, there simply is not any more room in their large home.

(Will continue to Update this page as the girls grow instead of making multiple blog posts and repeating the present info).

The Kowling Family of Tunica Pines

July 31, 2011 By: Gov. Riley Category: Kowling Family, The Sims 3, Tunica Pines

This anything-but-little family began with CAS Sim and young adult Alina Monroe moving from her hometown of Astoria to the beautiful town of Tunica Pines where she quickly settled into her role as a teacher.

Alina's entire life as a military brat had consisted of constantly moving around.  She felt she could never make friends because as soon as she got close to any at school, her father was moving them across the world for a new assignment.  As an only child, Alina often felt lonely.  She dreamed someday of not only being a school teacher and working with children, but having a huge family to come home to every night.

Working at Tunica Pines Academy was a dream come true for Alina, and she did not think she could be happier.  Yet her life changed for the better when her friendship with local and co-worker Rainer Kowling moved to a new level.  They married in a private ceremony with just a few close friends and family.  Her Maid-of-Honor was her best friend and cousin, Edie Su.  After the wedding and 3-day honeymoon to China, Rainer moved into her tiny one-bedroom home on a hill.

{*Alina is related to the Raingers of Astoria on her mother's side.  Alina's mother, Estella, was the first cousin of Bethany Rainger Su, daughter of founder sim, Ethan Rainger.  Ethan's sister, Charlotte Rainger Campbell, was the mother of Estella.}

Alina Renee Monroe Kowling

Alina is a Cancer who loves Indie music, Cobbler, and the color Spiceberry.  She is a graduate of Fort Starch Military Military School and held a position as Department Head in an Education career until she quit her job to stay home and take care of her growing brood of children.  She is the daughter of Estella Marie (nee Campbell) and Rear Admiral Madison Jefferson Monroe, USN, Retired, of Astoria.  Her Lifetime Wish is to be Surrounded by Family.

Life was idyllic for the young adult couple, but both were eager to start a family - a family, they both agreed, that would hopefully be large.  Remember to always be careful what you ask for! :)

It wasn't long before Alina learned that she was pregnant.  Knowing they had already began to outgrow the tiny, one-bedroom home, they purchased a two-story farmhouse just outside of town.  The soon-to-be-parents dreamed of re-decorating the home to be more modern and comfortable, turning the barn into a playroom, and filling the home with the sounds of many children.

The happy parents soon welcomed their first child, a daughter, that they named Jeisa.

Jeisa Erin Kowling

Jeisa is a Virgo who loves Chinese music, Lobster Thermidor, and the color Lilac.  She is a student of the local elementary school where she keeps an A grade average.  She has an imaginary friend named Sue Ellen and her best friend is Julie Wilson.

Not long before Jeisa reached childhood, Alina learned - to her delight - that she was once again pregnant.  The delight was doubled when she soon after delivered twin girls.  Rainer and Alina could not have been happier about this sudden and unexpected jump in the number of their brood.  It seemed their dreams of a large family to fill the farmhouse were going to come true.  The couple chose the lovely names Clare and Elise for their twin daughters.

Clare Evangeline Kowling

Clare is a Scorpio who loves Hip Hop, Mac and Cheese, and the color Turquoise.  She is a student of the local elementary school where she keeps a B grade average.  She has an imaginary friend named Betty June and her best friend is Katina Gossett.  She is the twin sister of Elise.

Soon, Jeisa was starting elementary school and there were two toddlers crawling around the house to look after.  Alina found herself unable to keep up with the demands of both work and home and decided to - at least until the girls were all in school - quit her job as a Department Head of the local school and devote herself full-time to raising her children.  She left with the blessings of her supervisor and employees and planned to return when all three of her girls were in school and  better able to care for themselves.  She hated the idea of leaving her twin girls home with a babysitter all day long only to come home, exhausted from a long day of  work, and have no time for them as she cooked supper, helped Jeisa with her homework, and got everyone to bed at a decent hour.  Staying home was the best option, and Alina knew she could return to work whenever she was ready.

Yet Fate has a way of turning our best laid plans completely upside down.  Two days before the twins' birthday, Alina learned she was - once again - pregnant.  She and Rainer rejoiced at the news.  Renovations and remodeling had been completed on the kitchen and dining room and the barn, which had become a fun spot and playroom not only for the children and their friends, but also for Alina and Rainer.

Upstairs, the master bedroom was complete, while one of the two bedrooms had been converted into a nursery/child's bedroom.  The extra bedroom, the couple decided, would become Jeisa's room - and she was so very excited about having her own room!

Later, however, the Kowlings learned that all of the fore-planning had been for naught.  Fate always it's own ideas in mind, no?

The day Alina learned she was pregnant again she was celebrating the twins' first birthday.  Her own birthday into adulthood had been only the week before.  She and Rainer discussed fitting one more crib into the twins' nursery.  It would be a tight fit, but not impossible.  Impossible would be adding the second new crib that the happy family sims was going to need for their next set of twin girls!

Completely unplanned and an utter surprise were the Kowling's second set of twin girls, which the couple finally settled on naming Malia and Malina.

The Kowlings realized that even their sprawling farmhouse was outgrowing them.  They put aside all other renovations and remodeling work - including the recently-begun living room project - and had a third floor added to the home.  Thankfully, with inheritance money from the death of Alina's father, this dream could be made reality.

The two second-story bedrooms were joined by an arched doorway and turned into matching turquoise blue and emerald green nurseries.  Upstairs, the couple dreamed up an open area at the top of the stairs - done in girly hot pinks - that provided areas for play and schoolwork, including a retro-styled hot couch that faced an enormous flat-paneled television set connected to a video gaming console.  One side left off to an enormous bathroom that would be cool to share and use not only for little girls but for the teenagers they would someday become.  The other side of the third-story layout was a long, large bedroom, done in soft lilac and a pale olive green, with two sets of bunk beds.

Everything was finished just in time for Alina to give birth to - you guessed it - another daughter!  Though both had hoped for a son, they were happy to have another healthy child and named their youngest one Rianna.

Rianna Jayne Kowling

Rianna is a Virgo who loves Egyptian music, Gooby Carbonara, and the color Blue.  She has an imaginary friend named Amy Lou.  She is still an infant.

Satellite Families of Astoria

April 10, 2011 By: Gov. Riley Category: Astoria, Rainger Family, The Sims 3

Now that we are entering the fourth generation of the Rainger Legacy, the satellite families are beginning to form.  It's quite interesting to see how the game's AI will play my satellite characters.

I sent 2nd Gen sim, Elisabetta Rainger, out into the world and she became a Burial Specialist at the local cemetery, married rich sim Elbert Wainwright and had a son, Gerald Wainwright.

My 3rd Gen sim, Katie Su, went into the world and bought a home, the "Cozy Craftsman", at 28 Sim Lane.  She is currently dating Noe Zimmer; the Zimmer's live next door to Katie's aunt Elisabetta across the street from Maruna Ocean.  She works at the cemetery with her aunt as Overseer of the Dead.\

Both Edie and Julia are Young Adults now and the time has come to choose which will be the the next heir -  it's a tough choice as I like them both; maybe I'll roll the die for this one.

Rainger Family Update

March 17, 2011 By: Gov. Riley Category: Astoria, Rainger Family, The Sims 3

Kate Pistachio Rainger passed away peacefully of Old Age, her remains cremated and given to family members.

Eldest daughter, Bethany Rainger, became an Adult and took a vacation to Shang Simla and met Zhan Su.  The two fell in love and were married, and Zhan moved back to Astoria with Bethany.

Elisabetta became an Adult and, soon, an aunt.  Bethany and Zhan rung in the third generation with a daughter, named after her late grandmother, Katie Su.

Ethan retired from his job to spend the rest of his time with his family and his new granddaughter, while Elisabetta moved out of the house to give her sister's new family room to grow and to pursue her own life.  She now resides across the street from Maruna Ocean, at 3 Sun Song Avenue.

Katie became a Child and began to do extremely well in school and was utterly spoiled by her grandfather, who adored her; the two were very close.

Not long after Katie became a Child, Bethany - just herself turned Adult - learned she was pregnant again.  The entire family was thrilled, especially Ethan, who hoped to live long enough to meet his second grandchild.

However, it was not to be.  Ethan took Katie to the beach for some early-morning fishing and, after 8am, Elisabetta came to meet them and spend some time with her father and niece and to tell them about her new boyfriend, Elbert Wainwright, son of Boyd and Susan Wainwright.

Only a couple of hours later, a shadow fell across them - it was the Grim Reaper; Ethan's full and well-lived life was over.

Shortly after Bethany gave birth to another daughter, Edie Su.

Currently, both Bethany and Zhan are Adults, Katie is a teen, and little Edie is a toddler.

Astoria – Rainger Family

March 16, 2011 By: Gov. Riley Category: Astoria, Rainger Family, The Sims 3

I've recently gotten back into playing The Sims 3, and though I never quite took off with it as I did with The Sims 2 I truly do enjoy playing.

The lack of dedication to 3, as opposed to 2, was - for me - a matter of less time to play, yes, but, also, frustration that every time I'd get going with a family, the game would crash and I'd lose everyone and everything.  (This wasn't all EA's fault - I also experienced a hard drive crash that obliterated my hard drive, including the sim families from The Fringe Press project).

This was especially the case in Bridgeport.  Due to the Bridgeport glitch (I've lost two families - just *poof* gone - and hours of work and play) with the Late Night ep, I've just gone back to square one and Sunset Valley (or a slight remake thereof).

I introduce you to the city of Astoria, and the Rainger family, which began with founder CAS sim, Ethan Rainger.  Ethan's traits are as follows:

Ethan Rainger

  • Loves the Outdoors
  • Bookworm
  • Family-Oriented
  • Natural Cook
  • Neat

Ethan is a Taurus who loves French music, Fish and Chips, and the color Green.  He has a career in the Science field.

Ethan married his maid, Kate Pistachio, on the pier at the beach and the two have had a romantic relationship ever since.

The newlywed couple moved from Ethan's small home  at 72 Water Lily Lane a custom-built home at 74 Landgraab Avenue to begin a family.

Kate was a bit older than Ethan and the two only managed to have one child together, a daughter named Bethany, before Kate became an Elder.

Just before Kate's last birthday, the couple decided to adopt and brought toddler Elisabetta into their home.  Bethany, a child at the time, was delighted to have a little sister and the two became especially close.  They are currently in high school, with Bethany soon to enter Young Adulthood.

Kate Pistachio Rainger

  • Brave
  • Neat
  • Charismatic
  • Kleptomaniac
  • Artistic

Kate is a Leo and loves Pop music, Ratatouille, and the color Red.  Though she began her career as a Maid, Kate is now employed in the Business profession and is a B-list Celebrity around town.

Bethany Rainger

  • Photographer's Eye
  • Perceptive
  • Eccentric
  • Computer Whiz

Bethany is a Cancer who loves Egyptian music, Sushi, and the color Red.

Elisabetta Rainger

  • Neurotic
  • Handy
  • Clumsy
  • Excitable

Elisabetta is a Scorpio who loves Hip Hop music, Fruit Parfait, and the color Irish Green.

More to come...

Twinbrook – Bhati

June 07, 2010 By: Gov. Riley Category: The Sims 3

Having just purchased the Ambitions ep, I am trying out the new town of Twinbrook with a CAS-made family, mother and daughter, Samana & Uma Bhati.

Hopefully the new town will not crash on me - I've been having problems with my game giving me the dreaded Error 13 (sometimes 12) codes and then crashing.  I've tried deleting the .cache files and the .bad files to no avail.  It's why I haven't been updating like I did with The Sims 2.  Hopefully the game will start acting right soon - in the meantime, I'll be updating this with my few The Sims 3 families.

In Twinbrook, residing at 39 Sweetwater Loop in the "Suburban Temple" are mother, Samana Bhati, and her teen daughter, Uma Bhati.

Samana Bhati

  • Flirty
  • Savvy Sculptor
  • Natural Cook
  • Charismatic
  • Born Saleswoman

Uma Bhati

  • Hopeless Romantic

As you can see, Samana is going to have her hands full with Uma while she tries to launch her career as a sculptor!  More later...stay tuned...

The McFarland family has made a lot of wonderful progress since Mason and Marlena first moved into Pepper Crossing a young adult couple ready to tackle the world!

The McFarlands have added to their brood and now have four children:  Patrick (teen), twins Rachel and Rebecca (child), and baby Gabriel (infant).  The family still resides at 1040 Dogwood Lane, though the house has been expanded to accomodate the growing brood.

A Longtime Simmer’s Thoughts on TS3

June 13, 2009 By: Gov. Riley Category: A Simmer's Thoughts, The Sims 3

On February 4, 2000, the day of release, I purchased The Sims; I have not looked back.  As well as owning every expansion pack for the original game, I would come to own every expansion and fun stuff pack issued for The Sims 2.  I played The Sims Online and tested my meddle on the stranded island of the Wii's The Sims Castaway.  A full-fledged website sprung up around my TS2 game, including this blog, and a number of mini-sites that detailed my Legacy families.

Suffice it to say, then, that I am a consummate Sims fan with years of gameplay experience.  I feel that I can speak with a little bit of authority on Sims-related issues, and - with this in mind - would like to address some of the unrest I have been hearing in the Sims community concerning the latest addition to the Sims franchise, The Sims 3.

Like others, I was surprised - and initially troubled - to learn that you could only control one family per town, period.  Thinking back to the full and colorful 'hoods I controlled in TS2 - filled with a bevy of families and sims that meandered through a delightfully tangled mess of children & grandchildren, in-laws, and cousins - I was sorely disappointed to learn I would not have such control over my towns in TS3.

No longer would I have a hodgepodge of sims and families - some spanning generations - from which to choose to play any time I entered a particular neighborhood.  I thought of the many choices facing me when I loaded my TS2 game; which 'hood would I play and, then, which family in that particular 'hood?  Would I stay with that family during the full course of my game time, or would I hop around the 'hood and play a family member of that family, or perhaps a completely unrelated sim?  I never felt limited in TS2 and it is that very feeling, I believe, that has many Sims fans bothered by TS3.

I, at the first, shared their concerns.  I could not fathom a reason for limiting the gaming experience so in this new edition; how could any true Simmer be content being stuck with just one family for the whole of their experience in any given town/neighborhood?  It made no sense, and I simply was not happy with it.

Before writing off the game, however, I decided to give it some concentrated thought.  After all, EA Games has rarely let the fans down and, by contrast, has always been very sensitive to the requests and desires of its fanbase.  Why, then, I wondered, would they put out a game so seemingly limited to fans who were used to having an entire 'hood of sims under their command?

And so, after some careful inner discourse, it began to make sense to me - and became, even, alluring. I began to see how this change offered new challenges and even ironed out some unattended problems that TS2 seemed to spawn by its own design.

It is my hope that I can offer a fresh perspective - and some peace of mind - to other Simmers out there who are feeling, as I was, confused and irate over this issue.

Let me begin by bringing up an inherent, but rarely considered, dilemma in TS2; one that became glaringly obvious once we all began to try our hand at The Legacy Challenge:  continuity.  Families increase exponentially over time; to the point - let us be honest - that their spillover can simply not be handled consistently.  A simple starter family of two sims will grow, someday and if continuously played, into an unwieldy tribe spanning many generations and inhabiting many households.  The only way, truly, to combat this growth was to ensure that every new couple of every generation only gave birth to one child; sort of turning your god-like control over your sims into a one-child-only regime and not, let us admit, very fun.

This was never more apparent than when attempting to master The Legacy Challenge.  The now-infamous Legacy Challenge broke onto the scene in 2004 when user Pinstar1161 posted his idea for a challenge which involved creating a starter sim with the intention of spawning a multi-generational legacy.  The challenge game was based in TS2 and final outcome - after successfully reaching the 10th generation of the family - was determined by a points-based system.  Points you had accumulated throughout your legacy-sojourn were added up to determine your mastery at creating a true legacy.

While being able to boast about a high score was thrilling, half of the challenge's achievement came in playing a single family through ten whole generations.  Before TLC came along, most families rarely made it past the second or third generation before users got bored and started a new family altogether. I feel fairly confident in saying that the majority of Sims players had 'hoods that were filled with half-played and forgotten families.

The challenge seemed to highlight more than just users' impetuousness; it put on full display the dilemmas that arise from a surplus of sims within a family in a certain neighborhood.  These inevitable off-shoots of a core family came to be called, by the ever-clever Simmers, "satellite families". The predicament that most Simmers found themselves in was an eventual inability to keep a growing, extended family on the same timeline.  We each found ourselves seeing Aunt Rosa - from a second generation satellite family - in town while playing what should be her umpteenth-great niece from generation nine.  In terms of continuity, this was - though unavoidable - not quite ideal.

I can not say it was an oversight on the part of the original creators; I doubt - in testing - they ever had the time to accumulate generationally-long families and realize the potential for overabundance that was inherently there.  Even if they did, it was likely not seen as a problem because, in truth, it was not.  It is, however, quite a quandary.

Even with the best of intentions, a devoted Simmer could never hope to keep an entire extended family up to date with their current, core family.  It would be a never-ending task as those satellite sims had children which spawned another set of satellite families with their own progeny.

EA Games has always listened to its fans.  Countless times I have seen upgrades, patches, and additions in new expansion packs that catered to desires being expressed on the BBS.  Even more obvious were the items.  Users - with design and even special scripts - would create desirable custom content not available in game.  If the item were popular, without fail, it would later show up in an expansion or fun pack.  EA listened to its community, paid attention to the online buzz, and delivered a product that was - almost always - catered directly to its fanbase's desires.  In other words, EA Games is not a company that is ignorant of its customers' wishes.

With this in mind, I could not fathom their issuing out TS3 and not having a valid reason for changing things in the way they that they have.  I tried to put myself in the mind of developers and looked back at my own gameplay in the past few years.  I have come to the conclusion that their intention was to fix the problem of the ever-expanding family, rather than to limit user's play by containing it to one household.

It makes sense if you think about it.  There was a reason The Legacy Challenge was so wildly popular.  Rather than scattered play among dozens of households, there was something fulfilling in being consumed by one household and its members; by being "forced" to concentrate only on their development instead of randomly choosing a different family to play every time the game was loaded.  The desire to see this little household prosper and its lone sim go on to create an actual "legacy" was compelling.  It gave some focus and purpose to a game that was, otherwise, completely freeform.  I believe that most of us, in one way or another, came to feel more devoted to our legacy families than any other in our games.

Not failing to notice this, I believe the developers of TS3 had such a vision in mind when they set out to create the predecessor to TS2.  The way that TS3 is set up allows for the type of concentrated - and therefore, meaningful - play that was found in expending all of one's energies on a legacy family.

A town that grows around and with the core household, also, solves two niggling predicaments that were a constant in TS2:  the generations-long family who - unable to evolve in tandem - running into family members who should have been long dead, and the same townsfolk that palled around with first generation sims interacting with their decades-since descendants.  I am hesitant to call these "problems", because they were not really so; they were, however, inconsistencies that could be frustrating to a discerning simmer.

Taking these things into account and looking at TS3 from this perspective makes me realize that - yet again - EA Games has done something extraordinary with this new game.  Rather than taking away from the greatness that was TS2, they have refined and improved upon it.

I, for one, am excited to know that my satellite families will continue to grow and go on without any help from me.  Otherwise, they likely would have sat - unplayed and collecting virtual dust - perhaps forever.  Even with my best intentions - I know from honestly looking at my game as it sits now - I never would have gotten around to playing and advancing them all.  Even if I had, as soon as my core household progressed to another age, I would have had to go back and play every single satellite family and advance them, too, just to keep up (a considerable task if your core family is somewhere in the double digits generation-wise).

Personally, playing The Sims is not just about the fascinating gameplay, but the progression of my families.  I love the idea of having a family that spans generations; as I am sure many other Simmers do, too.  When TS2 came out offering that ability, it opened a world to me that I had only ever dreamed about inside of my head.  I feel, after some reflection, more than comfortable allowing the game to dictate the lives of my satellite families.  In fact, it will be interesting to see how their lives play out; away from my direct control.  Who will they marry, what will their children's names be, and where will they live?

Though it is hard to make a decision among your current children as to whose life you will pursue as your "active" sim, I think it opens up a whole new world of possibility and excitement.  Whereas before your cast-off sims may never have been played and developed (regardless of how earnestly you meant to get back to them), now each of them will have a chance at living life and you can sit back and see how those lives play out with the skill sets that you helped them to achieve.

While it may feel - at first - frustrating to be relegated to only one household as "active", I think that if you see this as an opportunity to exist in an ever-changing, evolving town/'hood where all of your sims will have a chance at life, it becomes very exciting.

Rather than see the one, active household as a limitation, I choose to see it as a challenge.  When Grace, Bobby, and Anne grow to adulthood in my active household I have to make a choice as to who I am going to continue on with.  That choice will be hard, no doubt, but it really forces us to make a firm decision about how our game will play out.  It also, actually, gives rise to a bevy of new choices.  Do I marry my new young adult sims before moving them out on their own, or do I allow them to choose their mates as they take control of their own lives?  Shall I choose their careers for them, or see what paths they decide to follow?  Will my active household stay close to its extended family members or will they grow apart?

One can always, too, change their active household but I fancy the idea of playing TS3 like an extremely elaborate Legacy Challenge.  There is something satisfying and even thrilling about sticking it out with a core family and seeing extended family - that you created the beginnings of - flourish around you.

I do so hope that I have offered a balm for the frustrations I have seen repeated on so many online forums, and that I have been able to give Simmers a fresh perspective on the game and how it is setup.  Giving up on TS3 so early in - as I have read many expressing a desire to do - is not giving the game a chance to stand on its own merits; to be enjoyed for what it is instead of avoided for what it is not.  I believe it offers us, as Simmers, many new and exciting avenues of gameplay, while fixing some of the bothersome quirks of past games.  On taking a deeper look at the whole picture, and even examining my own, past gameplay, I have come to set aside my initial reluctance and disappointment to see The Sims 3 as yet another triumph for EA Games.  It is not TS2, and we should not expect it to be; in fact, it does not need to be - this game stands tall and just fine on its own merits.

Welcome to the ‘Hood in RH

Skasimlaki would like to welcome two new families into the community of La Roche Parish, comprising the parish seat of Riverblossom Hills and the seaside city of Cambelton.

A CAS family, the Williams, have moved into Riverblossom Hills and taken up residence in the posh, hilltop complex known as The Crossroads.  The family consists of aging father, Charlie Williams, and his adult daughter, Annette Williams.

Moving out of the Bin and into town are the Larson twins, Jason Larson and Jodie Larson, who share a roomy apartment at Rosewood Duplex in Cambelton, a downtown city on the sea.

Going back to Riverblossom Hills, we also have the Bin family known as Ramaswami.  Husband and wife Sanjay Ramaswami and Priya Ramaswami have chosen to make lovely Riverblossom Hills their new home.

Everyone here at Skasimlaki would like to welcome these newcomers into our communities and look forward to seeing them integrate with our already established families.

Happenings in Riverblossom Hills

December 14, 2008 By: Gov. Riley Category: La Roche Parish, McGreggor Family, O'Mackey Family, Ottomas Family

Since we last visited Riverblossom Hills, located in beautiful La Roche Parish, quite a few changes have occured.  Families have grown, young adults have graduated college, and new sims entered the work force.

O'Mackey

After his daughter, Jules O'Mackey, went off to college with her best friend, Sharla Ottomas, Gabe O'Mackey married his longtime girlfriend La Shawn Cameron.  The couple have a young daughter, Tatum O'Mackey.

Jules graduated from SSU-R with a major in Philosophy.  She returned home and settled in an apartment at Seaspray Apartments I in the city of Cambelton with her college sweetheart, Bryan Rossi.  The couple are engaged with plans to be married soon.  Jules is pursuing her lifelong dream of working in the Journalism career.

McGreggor

Confirmed bachelor, Leod McGreggor, married Alexandra Teatherton O'Mackey; former wife of Gabe O'Mackey and mother of Jules O'Mackey.  The couple have a young daughter, Anthea McGreggor, and toddler son, Jackson McGreggor.

Ottomas

The eldest of the Ottomas children, and the first to attend university, Sharla Ottomas moved to college at SSU-R with her best friend, Jules O'Mackey.  She graduated with a degree in Economics and is currently employed as a Douser in the Paranormal field.  She returned to Riverblossom Hills and settled there with her college sweetheart and now husband, Peter Gray.  The couple have two daughters, Brooke and Leta, and recently welcomed twin boys, Jude and Colton into the family.

David Ottomas, brother of Sharla, moved out on his own after graduation.  He continued to pursue a career in music - in which he'd been to the top of the field at an after-school job - and bought a quaint, little two-story home in White Oak.  Friend Gretchen Terrill set David up on a blind date with the woman who was to become his wife.  After only three months of dating, David married Downtownie Beth Allbee.  The couple are expecting their first child.
