Mary Brandon Kearny

Mary S. Brandon was born in approximately 1855 in Tennessee to parents Gerard Chittocque Brandon and Charlotte Smith Hoggatt and is one of the surviving Brandon children.
An 1860 Census shows her, aged 5, living with her parents and siblings in Natchez, Adams County, Mississippi.
Mary married E. Kearny on Sep 4, 1888.
An 1880 U.S. Census shows an E. Kearny, aged 42, who is a widower and a grocer living in Brandywine, Mississippi. If this is the same Kearny that Mary married is not yet clear. I did find an Edward Kearny, b. 1838 whose wife Isabella S. Lionberger died Nov 15, 1870. It is possible that Mary married the older widower.
The 1890 Census shows Mary, aged 45, still living with her extended family in Natchez, Mississippi. There is no mention of Mary's husband or any children, so it is my guess that she was a widow by this time, at the age of 45.
The 1910 Census shows Mary, widowed and age 55, and living with her brother, Charles, and his wife, Nellie (both 45) in Natchez, Mississippi in Adams County.
