Memento Mori: About

The roadside memorials are intriguing for many reasons. Not only do they remind us of our own mortality, we began to wonder about the names behind the wooden crosses and stone statues. Who was this person? How did they live their life, and how did they die? How old were they? This was someone's child, parent, lover and/or friend.

You are drawn to them - ponder on them - think about them. Perhaps you slow down and drive a little safer. Maybe you get home and hug your family. You may say a special prayer for the grieving family. Regardless, the roadside memorials touch us all in some way.
