Robert Emmet Brandon

1794 - 1821

Robert Emmet Brandon was born in Adams County, Mississippi to parents Gerard Chittocque Brandon and Dorothy Nugent.

He was named after the Irish nationalist rebel leader, Robert Emmet, whom his father was a follower of and whose capture led Gerard Brandon to flee to America with his mother. Emmet led an abortive rebellion against British rule in 1803 and was tried and executed after his capture.

He married Rosie C. Davis on Aug 30, 1821; she was born in 1798. Robert died the same year he was married at the age of 27.
