Good grief, I've been gone for what seems like forever.  My SL is getting more and more full as the days go on and while that's a good thing, my blogging has definitely suffered.

Let's see if I can cover the bases.

There's a new blog for the Sable Rose store so I don't have to clutter up this one with posts about the store. I'm hoping it gets accepted to one of the feeds, since I've never felt it would be right to put this one on a fashion feed or anything similar. The address for the blog is, at least temporarily, http://skatoolaki.com/sablerose and I've started posting pictures of some of my stuff.

Today, I had the honor of meeting with Shenlei Flasheart of Shengri La and the Fashion Institute, and I've been accepted as a vendor in what is currently known as the Vintage Marketplace. I'll be working with Shenlei to try to progress my little shop along and raise awareness of my jewelry, with the goal of becoming better known without sacrificing all of my free time or my SL enjoyment by things feeling more like "work."

I also signed Sable Rose up for the Twisted Hunt that's going to be starting in April, so watch for more news about that.

Life on Four Corners is never dull, and we're getting the island fleshed out and absolutely beautiful. From Bonibaru's mermaid hangout under the sea to Raeyn's ground level fog and clouds, to Izzy's willow forest to our garden, we're all settling in and loving it.

That being said, I help Marx Dudek out with her residential sim Wellstone, and she has some parcels up for purchase. She's letting them go for a very good deal depending on the size, so if you or someone you know is looking for an affordable chunk of LOVELY oceanfront estate land to call their own, have them contact Marx Dudek inworld.

Hm, what else is going on? Fleur! Fleur, fleur, fleur! As you may or may not know, I am a CSA for Fleur and I am down at the store a few times a week to meet and greet and help people find what they're looking for. If you haven't seen the absolutely gorgeous new Shoujo valentine's skins and the Vain - Kissed Hunt free skin yet, do yourself a favor and head to Fleur and CHECK THEM OUT. Don't forget to enter the photo contest for your chance at Fleur gift cards!

My partner Daman has reincarnated himself as Eirik, and as such Eirik has started a new blog. He has subtitled it "beating up Second Life with the chair leg of truth," which I reckon means he's going to be telling us a lot of what's on his mind. As the one who gets to talk to him more than most I reckon, I can tell you he has a lot of things on his mind so I'm sure it'll be interesting. Make sure you check it out.

On a more solemn note, I have been cherishing my inworld friends and I am so deeply grateful for the support and fun and friendship you all have been sharing with me. I have been finding the time recently to become closer with my core group of friends who are definitely converting/converted into my SL family. But I am SO blessed to have a varied and amazing group of people around me in SL so in case I have neglected to tell any of you how amazing you truly are, HERE, YOU CAN READ IT IN MY BLOG BECAUSE THAT IS THE BEST WAY EVA TO GET THE POINT ACROSS.

Okay, well, hopefully you know what I mean. And I intend to get back to making with the regular drive-by IM lovins. SL is nothing without the people in it.

What else can I torture you with? I've lost 10 pounds IRL, RL Mr. B. is settled in overseas and we're patiently counting the days until he gets to come home on a mid-tour trip in July. We're thinking about heading to Vegas for a few days.

I would do almost anything for some french fries or buffalo chicken wings, I'm Plurking as much as I can to hold my karma steady at 65 which frustrates me, I'm trying to stay caught up with all of y'all on your blogs, and, um.

THERE'S LOTS AND LOTS GOING ON.

Is everybody feeling as crazy as me? C'mon, talk to me, frenz. Tell me what's on your collective minds.

"I claim this land in honor of myself, Isadora Graves, and my partner-friend, Rosie Barthelmess on this 30th day of the month of June in the year two-thousand and eight, and it shall be called Rosadora.

And it was so." - Isadora Graves

"Holy shit, Izzy, we have a freakin' island!" -Rosie Barthelmess

Thanks to the best efforts of Marx Dudek, our beloved landlady, Isadora Graves and I were able to open our new openspace region, titled "Rosadora."

Rosadora will be the residence of Isadora, plus me and mine. We've split it down the middle so each of us can create and terraform to our heart's content, while trying to maintain some live water in the bay for toys like jet skis, surfing, inner tubes, etc.

Isadora's side has converting itself into a set of Zen gardens with Asian buildings and lots of little nooks. Rosie's side is a high craggy mountain with foresty trees and a sandbar with fishing and watersports.

More pictures to come, because yay! We'll have everybody over once we get everything done and all settled in. There's houses to furnish, trees to plant, snuggly nooks to identify... there's work to be done, I say!

Izzy has 3 plots, and I have 2 plots, up for sale on the lovely residential island of Pacific Terrace. 300 prims, $10US/mo, let either of us know if anyone is looking for a spot to hang their hat.

I've been a resident of Pacific Terrace for like, ever. A year. That's a long time. Isadora and I stumbled onto Pacific Terrace about a year ago, and never left. We immediately bought neighboring plots and soon we each had three plots on the island (for the prims, people, THE PRIMS!). We've had tiki gardens, magic forests, sky islands, beach houses, zen gardens, you name it. And we have loved it.

But, something's come up that we can't pass up.

A mutual friend of ours recently purchased her first sim, and as a result has access to Openspaces. After some careful consideration, Isadora and I have decided to take the plunge and get one. I've been considering one for a while, a month or two actually, I just didn't know anybody who could get me (or us) into one. So, it seems this is all just the gentle sway of serendipity.

Izzy and I are primming down and putting our 1024m2 plots up for sale on Pacific Terrace. They are bonus-prim plots, with 300 prims each, and every one has a view of the ocean. Two of the plots, side-by-side, are directly on the water on the south side of the island. Two more are raised up with a direct view of the ocean, behind the two waterfront plots on the south side, side by side. I had a plot on the middle tier of the island facing west, which sold last night. Isadora has a similar plot, right next door to that one -- it's a perfect view of the gorgeous sunset. If I lived on the sunset side of the island, I would just live in sunset all the time.

We love Pacific Terrace. Teddy Qinan makes a concerted effort to keep it a quiet, relaxing, enjoyable place to live. There's a resident-only sandbox on the island as well as a bunch of chillout spots and some game tables, and the covenant is easy to live with and in the best interest of all the residents there.

We'd both highly recommend it, and we're sad to move. But, when someone waves essentially your own custom sim under your nose what can you do?

IM me or Isadora Graves if you or someone you know might be interested in picking up our plots from us. The tier is $10/mo USD or Linden$, and I think most of our plots are paid up through the middle of July. Now is a great time to buy! :P

So who wants to come to a housewarming party after we get the new place all set up? No hurry, knowing me and Isadora it's going to be a festival of perfectionism and tweaking. Hopefully Daman can keep us focused and get us moved in quick. :P Of course, he's just as much a perfectionist as either me or Isadora, so this might end up being quite the project.

He and I spent part of the afternoon yesterday rezzing and walking through urban/industrial loft/studio/warehouse style residence builds courtesy of our friends Noirran Marx and Nate Ninetails. We have so many to pick from, and there were so many we loved. I reckon we're going to have to re-rez them all once we get the land terrarformed before we pick which one we'll keep.

So many fun things in store for us! In the meantime, we're gonna need a place to squat. Marx, you still up for rezzing us a beach blanket and a campfire in your front yard? :P

She's back, again!

Yeah, remember when I said my dearest Isadora was back inworld? And when she said she was coming back to us? Then she disappeared for another month. LOL!

Today I happened to have some inworld time as I was on my own IRL with no work to do, and stumbled inworld to find her on my friendslist. I TP'd to where she was immediately, and we started talking all about her new house -- the one she bought a month ago and never put down on her plot.

We returned home, she picked up her belongings and placed her new house, and we went on a shopping spree! She's chosen a minimalist, sort of classic Asian theme for her new home, so I went through a list I had of recommended furniture purveyors and we started our journey around the grid. A bunch of furniture later, we returned to her abode and started placing stuff.

And, Izzy finally got to meet Daman, which made me very happy. We hung out for a while with her until she had to leave, and it was overall a very pleasant afternoon.

So far, the lower level of the home is looking absolutely lovely! She's also got grand plans for the upstairs, and a few more prims to burn to make that happen. I also see a Japanese maple or two in her future.

Anybody else have any ideas for sleek, Asian-style furniture or accessories on a prim budget? Heck, on a Linden$ budget, too...

So I have a sky island.

When I took down part of the Tiki Garden on PT and I found I had suddenly discovered a few hundred prims, I put in the forest and realized I still had, well, a couple hundred prims. So I went to a store on Port Seraphine (which for the life of me at the moment I cannot recall the name of right now, but I want to say I think it's FX) and bought me a little pack of islands.

They're one-prim sculptie islands, and I put some of the small ones together to make a very pretty sky island with some trees and a picnic blanket and a hammock and tire swing and some other things. I like to go up there and sit and have quiet time, as well as having time with special friends up there where we can sit on the blanket or in the tree and just talk.
