Cenalorn's Rallic Pack & Go! Guide
Rallic Pack Quest Guide

The Beginning

I've always wanted a Rallic Pack. And it wasn't a question of money; had I really wanted it, I could've culled together 800 pp for the ones constantly auctioned off in the PoK or sold in the bazaar. But I love quests.

If you're an adventurer who likes to quest, and would like your own giant-sized, 10-slot, 85% weight reduction bag (who wouldn't?), then perhaps my simple guide may help you to acquire your own.

You will need the following to complete the Jboot quest:

Shade Silk Thread

A little tailoring goes a long way with this quest. Shade Silk Thread is trivial at only 15 and can be made by combining two (2) shadeling silks in a sewing kit of your choice. This yields one Shade Silk Thread.

The shadeling silks can be looted if you kill xakra silkworms and lesser shades in Shadeweaver's Thicket, or xakra larva in Shar Vahl (in the crater).

Shade Silk Cord

Using some of the Shade Silk Thread from the earlier quest item, you can combine three (3) of these into a sewing kit of your choice to create Shade Silk Cord. This is trivial at a tailoring skill of 26.

Perfect Owlbear Pelt

This item can be found off the bodies of various owlbears in either Hollowshade Moor or Grimling Forest.

Grimling Runner Pouch

This No Drop item is the hardest part of the quest.

You must travel to the Tenebrous Mountains and wait for the Grimling Runner to spawn. He is a steady 90-minute pop, and he does so just inside the cave at the entrance to the Grimling Forest zone. Sitting just inside the cave, near the big rock to the right, you shouldn't miss him.

He can be quick, and is impervious to Snare or Root - so be sure to catch him right away.

Rallic Pack Pattern

Once dead, you can loot the Grimling Runner Pouch from his body.

You must then bring it to Rallic Aristos in Katta Castellum, who will, in return, give you the Rallic Pack Pattern. eqtraders.com says you can find him thus:

At loc -100 -40. Inside hedged-in castle. To get there, take first hallway to the left, then next hallway to left, then the following left. He is thru the doorway to the left.

Conclusion

My Rallic Pack questing went smoothly. I was able to accquire the first items easily.

Upon entering the Tenebrous Mountains zone, the Runner popped. Someone was waiting on him, though.

I, a 43 Warrior, and Nysa, a 42 Ranger, sat and killed Sonic Dire Wolves for 80 minutes. We then sat and waited - exactly where eqtraders.com said to - and right on schedule (90 mins between pops), he came up. We killed him easily and completed the quest.

Best of luck in your Rallic Pack Quest ventures.
