Rornn
Human Monk of Qeynos

I lived the life of a normal, human man. My way was not that of adventurer or warrior, magic-user or worshipper of evil. I believed in hard work, and taking care of my family.

When I was a young man, working for a fisherman off the docks of Qeynos, I saw the loveliest creature. A barmaid at The Mermaid's Lure, it was months before I could muster up the courage to speak to the beautiful Beladya Nelas. Six months later, she placed a trembling hand in mine and we were married right there in that very pub. It was the happiest day of my life. I made us a modest living as a fisherman, and Beladya blessed our home with two lovely daughters, Jeana and Leriel. They had their mother's deep, brown eyes and her thick, auburn hair; Leriel had my determined chin and Jeana my long nose. We were a happy family.

Beladya's sister had moved to a small village in the Karanas, and I we went to visit her at least twice year. They were twins, and very close. When Mibryn's husband sent word that their latest child was about to be born, Beladya rushed to be at her side and act as midwife; as she had for Mibryn's previous six children. She wanted to begin to train the girls at being a midwife as they were now in their early teens, and would be of marrying age themselves in a few more years. Jeana had plans to be a Cleric and had already begun training at the Academy. Unfortunately, it was the middle of our most plentiful season – and I could not leave my job. The roads to N. Karana are dangerous, and I set it up for my brother's son, Addric, to take them. He was a young man, himself, and in training to be a fine Warrior; I knew he would see them safely there and home.

It was on the way home that they were attacked by a band of bandits. The bodies of my beloved wife and dear nephew were brought home to me, but my daughters have never been found. It has been 10 years, yet I feel in my heart they are still alive – somewhere. My efforts to find them so far have been in vain.

The months after found me sitting at the Crow's Pub, drowning myself in mead and fish wine. It was here that Master Rudoc found me. He took me in and let me stay in the Monk's guild, and slowly began teaching me the fine art of being a Monk. I refocused my pain and used it to hone my abilities – with the hope that they would help me one day find my daughters.

Until I have accomplished that goal, the search continues.
